SUNFLOWERS ARE POLLINATORS IN EVERY GARDEN

Sunflowers are beautiful annual flowers that attract many pollinators. It is a good idea to plant them around the garden to help other plants to grow well.

Sunflowers can be used for all purposes. The seeds can be eaten as a snack, and pressed and used its oil. You can make butter from sunflowers. The seeds can be made into flowers to make bread and other dishes. Sunflowers seeds is used as protein for livestock and for bird food. Sunflowers are used as ornamental plants.

HOW TO GROW PLANTS FROM SEDDES

Take a container full of nutritious mix soil. You can soak the seeds in water for 24 hours. It will soften the seed coat and promoting faster germination. Place the soaked seeds in the container 1 inch and 1/2 deep. Cover them with layer of compost. Water the plant. It will germinate after 10 days. Once the plant has germinated and grow for about a foot, it can be transferred to the ground or to a bigger container.

HOW TO CARE FOR THE SUNFLOWERS PLANTS.

Place the plant near a sunny area. Sunflowers require a lot of water. Water them every day specially when they are young. Keep them in a warm place. It requires 60 degrees Fahrenheit minimal. They like full sun at least 6 hours daily. The sunflower will reach to its maturity after 70 days or so.

HOW SUNFLOWERS GROW

Sunflowers grow very tall. They can grow 6 to 10 feet tall. It has a tall sturdy hairy stem. It is very thick. They will need to be supported with a stick. Sunflowers are big round yellow flowers full of petals. It has a black center. they can mature into seeds. The leaves are large and coarse. Sunflowers bloom in the late summer. They last two to three weeks. Enjoy them.
