WELCOME TO THE COSMOPOLITAN GARDENER

 My name is Cecilia and I live in Brooklyn, N.Y.      I am a retired teacher.  I have had plants in my life, in my classroom, and in my home for a very long time.  I have learned to grow them and to take care of them. I have studied them.  I have learned a lot about plants.   Now that I am retired I have more time to share my knowledge with you.

Here at the cosmopolitan gardener you will learn about indoor and outdoor gardening.
I love plants.  I enjoy gardening very much.   I created this website to share my love of gardening.
I have always had plants in small and large spaces.   Having plants has given me pleasure,  peace,  and instilled patience in me.
By documenting what I do I want to pass on the love  I have for planting to you.   I  want to inspire people to create a small or large garden anywhere or anytime.
Plants are like us – resilient. 
They adjust to many situations and survive.
By creating this website I also want to show my love for the environment ,  my desire to protect it, and, as a former teacher, fulfill my desire to teach.
 
Living in a place that has four seasons has made me realize we can use different seasons to our advantage and learn to grow plants and vegetables under many different  conditions.   It makes me realize we live in a unique,  magnificent,  magical and productive place called  EARTH.
