A GARDEN BLOG FILLED WITH TIPS
The Cosmopolitan Gardener will make your garden thrive all year round.
My name is Cecilia Cortez, and I am a Brooklyn, New York retired teacher who is passionate about growing herbs, vegetables, and cacti.
I have had plants in my home, classroom, and other spaces of varying sizes for years, and I studied how to care for them.
Now that I am a retiree, I want to spend my time sharing my knowledge with other gardening enthusiasts worldwide. This desire led me to start this gardening blog.
I spend the winter in Florida, allowing me to work with a longer growing season for my plants and herbs. My passion for indoor and outdoor gardening has enriched my life. By documenting what I do, I want to pass on my love for planting. My goal is to inspire people to create a beautiful garden of their own wherever they live.
Plants are resilient like us and they can adjust to very challenging situations and mange to survive. In addition to being a rich source of easy-to-follow gardening advice, my blog is an expression of my love for the environment and my desire to protect it. Through The Cosmopolitan Gardener, I want to teach gardening enthusiasts how to create a beautiful garden and protect Mother Nature.
Living in Brooklyn, a place that has four seasons has made me realize we can use different seasons to our advantage and learn to grow plants and vegetables under many different conditions.
It makes me realize we live in a unique, magnificent, magical and productive place called Earth that needs to be protected.
