HOW TO GROW PEAS ALL YEAR AROUND
Peas are a very easy cool spring staple crop to grow in many parts of the world. Peas can tolerate cold weather even light frost and very moist soil. They like the shade and need at least 6 hours of daily sun. Plant them is a cool place. Start planting the seeds at the very beginning of the spring and again in the late fall to get a winter crop. You can have peas almost year around and enjoy them. There are 3 kinds of peas: shelling peas, shelling peas fibrous pods, and snap peas. They are very sweet.
HOW TO GROW FROM SEEDS
Start planting peas. Place the peas seeds in a container full of soil. They prefer to grow directly in the soil. Make a hole in the container. Place the seeds in. You can put 2 or 3 seeds in each hole. Peas are very tolerant. Plant them very close to each other. They grow up. The roots are shallow. Plant them 1 inch deep.
They will start growing as long as they are well moist. When growing peas is very important to provide a support. The branches need to claim and hold onto something to grow well. Place a trellis for them to rap around to keep growing and producing the fruit.
HARVESTING PEAS
Once the snow peas are growing start harvesting after 40 and 50 days. That is the earliest harvesting you can do. The shelling peas have to be harvested after 60 to 70 days. They have to be full and fat. Pull them from the stem gently. Keep them pick them up. The more you pick the more they grow. Enjoy them.
