HOW TO GROW SAGE FROM INDOORS?S

Sage is a fantastic herb to grew for several reasons. Sage is a perennial evergreen hardy herb. It is also called salvia. It is used for medicinal, culinary, perfumery and ornamental purposes. You can grow indoors and have it ready to plant in boxes or directly into the garden. It is very fragrant, It has a beautiful flower. It can be used as a garden border. It can also be used as an herb, In some growing zones like zone 5-8 sage is a perennial plant. It comes back every year once you plant it once.

SAGE SEEDS

Sage seeds are big. You can see it. When planting you can use only 4 seeds per container to make sure they germinate. It takes a while to germinate, 4 weeks for the seed sage to sprout. by planting 4 seeds you increase the odd of having a sage plant.

HOW TO PLANT SAGE SEEDS

Take a plant container add some soil fill it up. Add 4 sage seeds pace each seed in the corner of the container. press the seed gently with your thumb. Add some compost to the container. Water the plant gently. The soil has to be well drained and sandy. Sage needs 6 hours of sun daily. Place it in a warm sunny spot . The temperature has to be between 65-70 F (18-21 C ) watch it grow. Enjoy it.

Sage will start to sprout in about 4 to 6 weeks. once it has leaves, It will be ready to be change to a bigger container or to the ground.

HOW TO TRANSFER SAGE PLANTS TO BIGGER CONTAINERS?

Sage is a hardy plant. You can easily separate them if there are two plant in the container. Gentle shake them and separate them. Leave the root intact. Divide them and place each new plant in a bigger container or directly on the ground. Place the root of the plant directly in the ground. Cover them with more soil. Add some more compost.

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF A SAGE PLANT?

Sage does well with medium to full sun. It also grows well in partial shade. You can water once a week. Sage plants likes to be moist. if you let the sage plant get too soggy the plant will die. Water the sage plant once a week. Sage plants tolerate drought.
