HOW TO GROW LETTUCE FROM SEEDS
People consume lettuce daily on sandwiches, salads, wrappers, soups, and many dishes. It is an annual leaf plant. It is easily cultivated. It is very rich in vitamin K. It is delicious.

The Latin name for Lettuce is Lactuca Sativa. there are many kind of lettuce. Here are a few:
Romaine, It has very crispy and crunchy leaves.
Little Gem , It has small sweet baby leaves.
Butterhead, It has soft loosely sweet and buttery fresh leaves.
Crisphead Lettuce known as the Iceberg lettuce It is a very crispy crunchy flavor.
Green and red leaves, The leaves are loose and very soft single stalk. They taste totally refreshing.
Oak leaf lettuce, That lettuce is shaped like an oak leave. They are very sweet and soft.
Growing lettuce is very easy. Lettuce is a great crop to grow at home. You can grow lettuce all year long. There is a large variety of lettuce to chose from to grow. It comes in many colors. Lettuce is the most popular leafy vegetable. It was consumed in North America and Europe, mainly. Now, lettuce grow all over the world.
You can start growing indoors seven weeks before the last frosting and transplanted outside 4 weeks before the last frost. You can also plant them directly on the ground. It will grow well.
SEEDLING
When starting to grow indoors. You will need a tray with a very good potting mix, the lettuce seeds. and compost. Place two seeds in each cell. Press the seed well into the soil. The seed will germinate in 7 to 14 days. Make sure they have enough light and are warm between 40 and 60 degrees. Water the plants. Keep them wet. When the plant has enough leaves they are ready to be planted outside.
PLANTING THE LETTUCE OUTSIDE
When placing them in the garden put them 6 inches apart from each other. The soil must have compost for the plants to grow well. The leaves keep growing. keep cutting the top of the plant and the leaves will continue growing. You will have lettuce all summer long. You can plant a Fall crop and have lettuce a longer time.
