HOW TO GROW CARROTS FROM SEEDS
Carrots are root vegetables very easy to grow. Once you decide what kind of carrots you want to grow. There is a variety of carrots size, color, thickness. Chose a sunny place to grow the carrots. Carrots need 6 hours of day sun. They can get by with 4 hours too. Carrots are roots vegetables. You want to grow in an area where the soil is loose, sandy and full of compost. Carrots want to be moist all the time.
Take the seeds and place on top raised containers or in the ground. Carrots don’t like to be transplanted. Place the seeds 2 inches apart from each other and 1 inch deep, so they don’t compete for space. Each plant will have enough space to expand. It will take up to 15 days to sprout. Make sure they are kept consistently moist during the growing season and they will grow fast. If they get dry the seeds will die out. Once you have covered the seeds covered with water and let them and covered them with a thick layer of compost.
It will take up 60 days for carrots to grow. Once you see the top of the carrots you can check them and see the size of the carrots. You can thin them to make sure the strongest, and biggest carrots will grow. You need to keep the plant moist consistently to make sure the plant will thrive. Carrots like cool weather. You can grow carrots late winter into spring, late summer, through fall and even through winter. Carrots can be harvest after 100 days when you brush the soil and expose the top of the carrot and the carrot has the right color, size and shape.
Let a couple of carrots go to flowering in order to collect carrot seeds.
