GROWING DILL FROM SEEDS IN POTS
Dill is an annual herb. It grows well in the heat. It is used for pickling, and savoring soups, and many culinary dishes. Its fresh leaves are used in many cold dishes. It is also a great addition for salad dressing.
Get a container 8 inches wide and 6 inches deep. Fill it up with soil and a top layer of compost. Place the dill seeds on top of the soil. Put a few of them around. it is not necessary to push them down. They like to be on top of the soil. They will settle in the soil. Water them. Place them in a sunny area. Dill needs 6 t0 8 hours of sunlight daily. It can also tolerate some partial shade. Watch them grow. Enjoy them.
The dill seeds will germinate after 2 weeks. Keep the seeds moist all the time and the temperature at 70 degrees Fahrenheit. When it is cooler the process takes. longer. After the plant germinate let it grow until it is 6 inches before you transfer to another pot. l take a couple of months. Dill plants grow up to 2 feet tall. If it gets too hot the plant goes to flower and it is done.
HOW TO HARVEST DILL PLANTS
Harvesting dill is very easy. Pick the dill from the bottom. Cut the branches. avoid pulling the leaves. The leaves are very thin. It is best to cut them from the stems. The plant will live up to 4 months.
