HOW TO GROW CILANTRO IN POTS.
Cilantro is an cool annual herb. Cilantro grows well in zones 4 – 8. Cilantro is the leaves, coriandrum is the seed. Cilantro grows well in cold weather 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Plant your plants in the fall and early spring. You can plant new seeds every 2 weeks and you will have more cilantro plants to harvest. When the temperature gets to 85 degrees Fahrenheit the hot temperature will make the plant produce flowers that won’t get pollinated and go to seeds.
The seeds can be collected for the following year. It could grow up to 18 inches tall. Cilantro grows well in rich with organic matter (compost)
Plant cilantro seeds in the fall 1/2 inch deep. 2 inches apart. Place 2 seeds in each container. Cover them with a layer of compost. Place them in a sunny place. Cilantro plants needs 6 hours of sun daily. It needs well moist soil. , and it will germinate after 2 weeks. Cilantro will be fully grown after 3 weeks. You can harvest the leaves when the plant is one foot tall. Check the leaves of cilantro for nasty pest. If yo have any you can combat those pest with neem oil.
Cilantro is used as a spice in salads and soups. It has a strong taste. All the parts of the plant are edible.
