GROWING CILANTRO IN CONTAINERS
Cilantro is a culinary herb. It is originally from Iran. It is very easy to grow cilantro. It is a cool weather plant. It also do well in the shaded areas to grow.
Chose a container 4 inches deep 6 inches tall. Fill it up a container with quality organic soil mix. It is a good idea to heat the soil Press the soil down to eliminate the air in between. Place the corianders seeds on top of the soil. Add a tick layer of compost. The seeds like to be in a hot temperature to germinate.
The seeds germinate best when they are at a 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Cover the seeds with a plastic to keep it warm and allow germination with a sheet of plastic. Cilantro will germinate in 5 days. Place the container near the widow for full benefits. Keep the new plant moist at all times. Water the plant from bellow. The seedlings need that. Enjoy the seedlings.
You can start harvesting cilantro after 3 weeks. When the cilantro is 6 to 8 inches tall you can start cutting the top portion of the stem. You leave the young leaves in the middle to allow the plant to grow more and have cilantro for a longer time. If you leave the leaves too long they will become feathery the cilantro will taste bitter and star to lose flavor. Cut them before that happens.
