Use a 6 inches tall container with holes for good drainage, so roots are not soaked and become rotten. Line the bottom of the container with paper or fabric. It allows the water to leave and not the soil. Arugula likes water. keep it moist all the time.
Fill the container with soil. Place the seeds on top. Push the seeds down gently 1 inch deep. That is 2 to 3 per square inch. Cover the seeds with a couple of inches of soil. Cover the container with a wet paper cloth. That will keep the plant warm and allows the germination to take place. It will take 10 days for arugula to germinate and start growing. Arugula likes a nice sunny window sill. Watch it grow. enjoy it.
It will take 4 weeks from the time it gets planted to be be harvested. The leaves grow long and slender. It is good to keep cutting the leaves for the plant to keep growing and producing more leaves. If the plant gives you flowers cut the flowers and the plant will continue to grow leaves.
