HOW TO BUILD A TERRARIUM AT HOME
Terrariums is another way to have an indoor garden. You can do it any size. It is encased in glass or plastic. It controls its own temperature, keeps pests and diseases at a minimum. It is protected from inclement weather. the moisture is at a constant level. It can offer perfect growing conditions and keep plants alive for a long time.
As a cosmopolitan gardener you can have a terrarium indoors and see closely the development of a small garden with all the elements of the ecological process: photosynthesis, rain cycle, respiration.
A terrarium will need light. Place the container in a sunny place where the sun light will cover the terrarium. You can use clear glass containers, Plexiglas container, jar with metal lids, clear wine bottles.
Once you have chosen the glass container you will need a layer of drainage material consisting of small pebbles, a layer of charcoal, and a layer of potting sterilized soil mix.
Depending the size of the open of the container. You may need a funnel. But if the opening is big enough just gently pour the layer of pebbles first, then, a thin layer of the charcoal and then a layer of soil. After that lower the small leaves into the glass container. Place the stem in the soil. The small leaves are standing up. Add some water just enough to moist the container. Close it and place it in a sunny place. Watch it grow. Enjoy it.
