HOW TO GROW ARUGULA IN CONTAINERS?

Arugula is a very easy Lucius leafy green annual plant to grow. It is cold crop. It grows easily at the beginning of spring and at the end of the summer.

It has a bitter, tar, flavor. It is used in salads, and in sandwiches. Arugula is rich in vitamin C and K.

Pick a 12 inches wide and 10 inches deep container fill it up with enriched soil mix with a thick layer compost. 3/4 compost 1/4 soil. Make holes in the soil and place 2 seeds in each hole. Keep each seeds 4 each from apart. Cover them with a layer of compost. Keep the soil moist all the time for healthy growth and optimal flavor. Place them is a sunny place. Arugula needs al least 6 hours of direct sun. It also grows well in partial sun.

Arugula is a cold crop. Start growing arugula early in the spring. Once it get hot arugula will bolt into flowers. If you plant soon after the last frost Arugula will grow well. Arugula will germinate nice and early after 5 days of planting. After 10 days the leaves will start to grow. Arugula needs to be moist al the time.

You could harvest arugula after 30 day when it is is 1 foot tall. It will keep growing as you take the leaves. You can harvest the leaves when they are 3 inches long. The youngest leaves are the tastiest
