HOW TO CLEAN THE BOXES AND POTS

WHY IS IMPORTANT TO ADD COMPOST TO THE SOIL?
Add compost to the clean beds and pots. It will help to have the soil rich ready for the spring garden. Cover the pots and the boxes with leaves. The leaves are used as mulch. It is easier and lighter to put the leaves on top of the beds and pots. The mulch will insulate the soil during the winter and protect the worms living in the topsoil. It will prevent soil from leeching. It will also prevent the nutrients in the soil to run off.
Bring live plants indoors if you have space. If you have herbs that are still alive bring them inside. You will be saving them from the frost.
WHAT TO PLANT IN THE WINTER?
Plant bulbs now. You can plant garlic, or flower bulbs to make sure they sleep during the winter. This is the time to plant them. Save some leaves mulch and save some leaves for the summer.
