WHAT IS MINT?
Mint is a medicinal herb. it is a calming herb. It reduces cold symptoms. It helps soothe the stomach. It maintains your mouth healthy by drinking mint water. It is also a popular ingredient in sauces, salads, deserts, teas, drinks, perfumes, oils, shampoos, toothpaste, mouth wash, chewing gum. Mint is known to help prevent hair loss.
WHAT IS THE MAIN INGRESIENT OF MINT?
Menthol is the active ingredient in Mint. Its has biocidal properties. it helps repel pests. It is well like by cats and dogs. It is widely used all over the world.
HOW TO PLANT IT?
Use a planter. Pick fresh mint seeds. Fill the container with starting mix soil. Wet the container full of soil before placing the seeds in the container. Sprinkle the seeds on top of the container. give each seed enough space to germinate. Cover the seeds with more soil and some compost. Press the seeds down gently. Water the container. Mint likes moist but not wet.
HOW TO TRANSFER THE MINT SEEDLINGS ?
Cover the container with a plastic to create a green house effect. You would not need to water the seedlings again until it is time to transplant them. The mint seeds will start germinate after 10 days. Once the seedling have leaves you can transplant them in the ground or in a bigger container. That will take 8 to 10 weeks. the mint must have al least 2 sets of true leaves to be transplanted to a new place.
HOW TO GROW MINT IN THE BIGGER CONTAINER OR THE GROUND
Place the container in a sunny place. The ideal temperature will be 65degrees F and 70 degrees F. It will need minimal 4 hours of sun. The rest of the day it can be a shady place. Mint grows better in full sun to partial shade. The plant will grow 6 to 8 inches tall. It will take 2 months to gets to its full size. Then, you can harvest the leaves. Watch it grow. Enjoy it.
